#TBT Elias Rojas Introduces Resolution to the Democratic Party State Central Committee Calling on the Democratic Party to Oppose Proposition 1 (The Anti-Transgender Bathroom Initiative)
It was a proud moment in late-January at the Democratic State Central Committee held in Juneau, when the Democratic Party Central Committee passed a resolution proposed by Elias Rojas, Chair of the LGBTQ+ Caucus, opposing Proposition 1, as well as calling on all Democrats to oppose Proposition 1. It passed on a voice/hand vote and there was no one in opposition.
Proposition 1 would have eliminated portions of our city’s current non-discrimination ordinance that protect transgender people from discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
